Default radiator options

Does anyone have input on radiators for my '84 C4? I think mine is a stock one, and it's got a small leak. I can exchange it for a new/reman one nearby, but don't know if I should consider upgrading to a bigger one?
thanks

How much for the reman?
There are brand new stock type ones as low as $135 on eBay
(item number; 8027489650)
up to HD triple row all metal ones for $190.
(Item number: 8028655177 )

Where is the leak? Is it a cracked tank? Leaky gasket? If a tank has cracked and is leaking, you can take the rad to a radiator shop and get the tank replaced for $60.00 to $70.00. $5.00 or $10.00 if it only needs a gasket. A new, quality, aluminum core, OE, replacement radiator shouldn't cost over $200.00. Beware of cheap, copper/brass replacements. The stock radiator is more than adequate for all but the wildest of Crossfires.

RACE ON!!!

The reman is about 145 I think (I should be clear on wether or not it's new). Is the all metal triple one worth the additional $55? I did see them, but didn't know if it was really that much better.

Get the Modine 2051 it is the OE HD replacement. A local radiator shop should be able to get one. Should be around $175.

An excellent choice. NAPA carries Modine.

If that is "code" for a, copper/brass, three row core, radiator, then it is far inferior to a properly made aluminum core/plastic tank, single row, OE style radiator.

Yeah, the guy at the radiator shop was trying to convince me on a 3-row brass one, stating that the z-06s had them, and that the brass radiators are more forgiving. I guess I'll go with good old modine though.
