Your 86 motor mount is just that an 86 .The standard motor mount on the older car is diff.
You use the old style motor mount and you will have about 1/2 inch clearence in the mount at the frame(the 2 prongs sticking up that you install the motor mount in).
The old style mount will fit the block ok.
