Default Couple tps questions

Checking the tps can I do that at the back of the plug with the points of my volt ohm meter? Tried with the ingition turn to the run position and checking the top two wires I got 0 volts at idle, had 0 volts a wot?Do I need to take the connector apart and run jumpers?or should it work going from the back of the plug?I also have the fuel pump and sender out of the car would this effect anything with checking the tps. Thanks for any help.

You are most likely not making contact that way. I used regular straight pins ( like for pinning patterns in sewing) to pierce the wire insulation. Then I use alligator clips to attach the Multimeter to the pins. You can also purchase a special test harness to do this also but my method works as well.

You should be fine. I set mine with a scanner and it was .51V and the TPS % read 0.
