Default Kwiklift Question

Got a Kwiklift for Christmas. I want to use the bridge and bottle jake/jackstands to jack up the rear. Where is the best place to put the jack to lift the entire rear, then put on stands. The bridge is too wide to put between the rear wheels, so it will have to go in front of or behind the rear wheels. What would be the strongest point to lift with a bottle jack. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I don't have a Kwiklift mine is a 4post lift my jacking tray was also to wide to fit between the tires so I cutoff about an inch and a half on each side of the jacking tray it works now!

Not sure what you mean by being too wide to put between the rear wheels. You can put the bridge wherever you want, most people with a solid axle would put it right under the axle and use a bottle jack on the pumpkin and then put the jackstands under the axle tubes. Unfortunately, this doesn't work too well for us.

I have both center bridges but don't use it when I lift the rear end. I put the botttle jacks under the frame in front of the rear wheels (jacks on the ramps themselves) and put wooden blocks under the frame right in front of them, then lower the frame onto the wooden blocks. I talked to KwikLift before doing this and they said it was safe to do. When I put my car on the ramps, I had the rear wheels right over the rear legs, not wanting the bottle jacks too far away from the legs.

The distance between the insides of the rear tires is narrower (48") than the width of the bridge (55"). With the tires on the ramps of the Kwiklift, you cannot get the bridge under the rear axle. (unless you move forward, place the bridge, and move back so the tires are on the bridge) Anyway, I followed your idea and jacked the car just forward of the rear wheel (jacks on the ramps). I placed the jackstands just forward of that. I put the rear wheels very close to the rear legs, as well to keep the jackstands near to the support of the rear legs.
Thanks for the replies, guys.

Cheers
