I have a Stock 94 Coupe 6 speed and i am toying with the Idea of Roller Rockers. I plan on upgrading the whole exhaust soon as well so. I want Roller Rockers what should I go with 1.6 or 1.7. My other question is that on the Impala SS forum they said if you upgrade to roller rockers you should add the LT4 Knock module to the computer because the additional valvetrain noise will cause the computer to retard the timing due to the extra noise. Is this something you have to do as well
The 1.6 Crane roller rockers that are included with the Hotcak kit are available from GM deales under a separate part #12370839. You could give Chris a call at Superior.
I also installed the LT4 knock module on my car but that was for excess noise from a louder exhaust. I knew I was getting knock because I could feel the engine tail off as the timing was taken out, the false knock was that bad. This is before I installed the Hotcam kit.
The knock module is not all that expensive ($25 to $30) and is a five minute install (at the underside of the PCM). Seems like it would be cheap insurance, and if you didn't do it you might be continually wondering about knock problems.
