The general rule of thumb is that you take off 1 second for every 100 hp of nauws. However, once you start getting in the 10's it take a bit more. My guess is you'll be close to dipping into the 10's with a 175 shot. Just make sure your fuel system is up to it and you retard the timing a bit or you may be walking home.
How fast are your vettes on 1/4?
What do the do with only street tires? Slicks?
And how much does the nitroz make?
My car does a 12.43/119mph with street tires. 2.037 on 60feet 8.427/150mph on 660feet.
Anyone who have any idea what it gonna make with slicks and 175hp nitroz?
Manual gearbox. 3.45rear end. 17" M/T ET Street.

119 mph? So you're putting roughly 400hp down? + 175 shot of NOS + Slicks= Busted drivetrain somewhere behind engine if you haven't turned your attention to beefing these items up.
119 is enough MPH for a mid 11, maybe faster. Strap a 175 shot to that, and I think 10's are a possibility. Of course, it's a lot easier to sit on here and talk about running 10's than to go out and do it.
No real way to know what it'll run until you go to the track.
Just shift the car 500 rpm's less than you normaly do and it should run a 10 without breaking anything.
If The tires hook ,which is called a dead hook you will be walking home.'
The rear end should hold but I don't think the drive shaft or half shafts can take more than 50 runs and hold together.
If you run a 10 you will be thrown off the track anyway.11.49 is as fast as you are allowed, without a roll bar.
10.81 at 128 on motor... 9.91 at 142 on 250 shot of N2O... That was the old combination: 396" SBC and a ZF6... New combination should make around 1400 hp on N2O and we're shooting for high 7's...
You'll pick up around 12-14 mph with a 175 shot and provided you get your short times down considerably (every tenth of 60' is worth 1.5-2 tenths on the big end) you should be DEEP in the 10's... I ran 10.79 with a heads/cam/stock shortblock combination in my '90 on a 150 shot... That was from 12.20's all motor...

I am permanantly barred from HRP (Houston Raceway Park) due to multiple times showing up at the track and dipping into the 9s. They said if I do it again without the proper cage, I will be fined. The track manager said fines can approach $2500. Ouch.
HMP (Houston Motorsports Park) is my new location. Even though it is only 1/8th mile, I can still run as quik as my car is capable without people going nuts.
Mine is legal to 12.00 with the roll bar because it is a convertible.

My red rag top got the same treatment, about 2 years ago.
I went out for test and tune and blew a 11.21 first pass with a 125 shot.
They chased me down, where is your jacket roll bar and so on.
I pulled up to the line with the top down .The anouncer said looks like the corvette is out for a Saturday cruise.
I blew down the track 122.56 mph and all I heard from the anouncer was that is not a Saturday cruise.
Now I am the VP of the track after I blew up my silver corvette on a 150 shot
NX sucks the noids leak and they know it,now they build their own in house noides.
13.49 on a vert.

Jburnett: When you drove 12.20 did you have slicks or on street tires?
What speed over the finish line?
Had you made someting to the rear? I belive I maybe have to change my wheel angel.

It MPH'd around 114-116 depending upon the weather. The 12.20's was on street tires with a 2.0 short time. On BFG DR's it would run 12.0's all day and dipped into the 11's a couple of times. The trick to getting the IRS cars to hit the tires hard is all in the rear suspension setup. I know Dennis (PlumCrazy86) has found his best setup to be "0-0;" meaning 0 degrees camber and 0 degrees caster. My best setup was +2.5 degrees camber and 0 degrees caster. I think on a stick car they're so much more brutal on the tires that the additional camber helped flat-track the tires upon the hit. You DO NOT want ANY negative camber in it for drag racing though; when you hit the tires and the car transfers its weight it will push the tires outwards. When you have negative camber in it it will lose contact patch as the tire moves outwards. With 0 or positive camber in the rear it will simply give you as much contact patch as there is tire.
