Default Cargo shade removal

How do you remove the cargo shade? There is play that allows it to slide from side to side. Is it like a regular window shade that slips into a little clip on each side or do I cut it in half with my sawzaw. I'm at that point.

You didn't say the majic word wihich in this case is what year your car is????

On my 92 you have to take the plastic trim pieces off and get a screw driver in the end and lightly push the end out of a slot in the body. If you get in there and look at it with a flashlight it's pretty obvious. Why are you taking it out? To fix the windy up spring?

think of it as a giant toilet paper roller, the ends(or at lest one end) needs to be pushed in toward the center and it will pop right out.

Many thanks. I should have stated my car is a 1984 Chevrolet Corvette.

Just a word of warning, that thing bends REALLY easy! I took mine out trying to track down an annoying rear rattle and I gave it a gentle toss into my attic at the old house... It bent on impact! I was just a gentle toss, I swear!

If I remember correctly my 86 slides ( its spring loaded) from the pass side towards the drv side and comes right out.

After reading all the trouble people have had I thought mine was broke the first time I did it, was so easy.
