Default 1990 C4 Handbrake

When I try to release my handbrake the travel is not far enough to release the locking mechanism. Can this be adjusted or do I just get another handle?

I don't think handle travel is necessary. I know when I really crank mine down I call still release it just by pressing the button. You might want to spray some lubricant on the release button, but I believe that will do it.

The handbrake mechanism is self-adjusting. There is a procedure in the manual for adjusting the free travel, but it says this is only necessary when the calipers have been disassembled.
