Default N2O blowdown tube

Anybody have any suggestions on different setups for using a nitrous blowdown tube for their bottle under the rear hatch on a C4? I want to be able to pass tech. at NHRA and IHRA drag strips. I'm running a NOS brand kit with a 10 lb bottle and have their 16166 adapter and safety cap.

what i have done is...

with the bottle mounted in the middle.. i actually have the siphon tube turned upside down(aka 180 degrees)... so the adapter and satety cap
come off the drivers side.
you will have to drill a small hole in the hatch floor and stick the tube through it. make sure u measure it out so that you dont have to drill a couple of holes to get it right.
nothing to hard just drill very easily

I bought a blowdown tube and couldn't figure out how to make it work for a clean exit with the bottle at the right angle for siphon tube to work properly. So, I did this. Cut the blowdown tube short and fed this yellow hose onto it like a nipple and band clamped it and routed it like this.......there's a drain plug in the bottom of storage bin that I removed and ran the hose through with a grommet. I also ran the N20 line through the front corner of the cargo box where it comes out right beside the fuel lines where I ran it to the front zip tied to the fuel lines. Turned out ok I think and works great.

I don't know if it will pass tech but I was never disallowed. I bought a large quick disconnect ( I think it is called a BUN connector ) and mounted it at the very back of the car just behind the carpet low in the corner on the passenger side. I used a braided flexible line about 1" in diameter with the correct fittings and cut to length. It looks really good and when you take the bottle out you can disconnect and I had a little cap that threaded on the disconnect and was covered by the carpet so nothing could be seen.

Dave, good ingenuity...but I don't think your design will hold if ever the pressure reaches that golden point. You're talking about an extreme amount of psi blowing out of the valve all at once and it's going to either blow the tube off where the clamp is or its going to rip a huge hole in the hose. Just my thoughts....I hope it would hold tho

Thanks for the suggestions, the kit came with a cap with a safety cable attatched to it. What's the purpose for the cap, could it be used instead of the blowdown tube?

The blow does have to vented to outside the car. I got busted for this once at an NHRA track and they wouldn't let me run. I went to speed shop and got adapter fitting to fit aluim tube and also went out the hatch drain with nice braided line and it passes tech, now.

Thanks ~db~ and yeah, believe you me, this was a concern but we tested it with 2000 psi of air and it held. Then, like a dummy, I left the car in the sun last summer and got sidetracked. In the heat of the Texas sun the the bottle pressure soared and the 2000 psi burst disc ruptured like it was intended to and I lost the 10 lbs of nitrous that I had bought the day before. It sucked to lose the juice but it proved the 5000 psi rated pressure washer sprayer hose and band clamp would hold.

If you are realy worried ,go to ACE or any hardware store and buy some 1/2 copper tubing as long as you need and go to the natural gas section and pick up the gas line connector that fits the blow off for your bottle. In the tools section you will find the flare tools buy one and flair the end of the copper tubing and install the natural gas connector on the blow down and run the copper tubing anyware you want it to exit the car.Copper tubing is very flexable.
I run 2 bottles and use the gas line connectors and a brass "T" and hook both bottles together and run one line outside the car.
