Default Thanks Marcho Polo

Just finished replacing the rack & pinion assembly in my '85. My first. Thanks alot to Marcho Polo for the tech tip and pics. It was a great help. Thanks also to all the rest of you who answered my questions directly and indirectly through posts found in the archives.

I can't wait to try it when the weather (and roads) get better in NW Pa.
No problems encountered.
One note to others doing this for the first time: I didn't realize that the intermediate shaft actually telescopes between the u-joints. With a little lube, I don't think it will be necessary to disconnect it from the steering column. Next time I'll put some penetrating oil on it ahead of time and work it until it slides freely. With the bolt removed from the clamp at the rack end, and a screwdriver pushed into the slot to open it a little, it should slide right off.

Thanks again.
