Default frisbee?

i was reading up on the techfacts on C4 gen.
What is the frisbee and where is it located?
I am not sure what part this is and will it help free up some HP?
Anyof you guys taken it out? how does it work?
TIPS....... Advice.......

It's a big metal disc that is mounted to the front of the water pump pulley. It was put there t reduce vibration from the AC compressor. The motor will spin up a little faster with this chunk of rotating mass removed and it probably won't hurt anything. Just make sure to use shorter bolts for your water pump pulley.

What year L98 do you have? The early L98's did not have it.

Does removing it really free up HP?

Its a big disc sitting on the water pump, put in because of the compressor redesign prior to 88. Earlier years do not have it.

remove it, its not doing you any good being there, it should free about 10hp up

1989 6 speed

Are there any tips on removing and installing the belt easy one person deal? Without the belt tool. Any tips on how to remove this crap easy any advice that you guys noticed when doing it?

I just use my long click style torque wrench. Fits right into the belt tensioner square hole. I can ratchet back again and get further movement losening the tensioner fully. If you don't have one and you are strong, you can just push the tensioner down with your hand and slip the belt off.
