opti spark
How do you know when it's time to replace?My 94 falls on it's face at 4500 rmp's with a little viberation the local speed shop say's that's the opti spark.I hate the throw parts at it what do you guys think?

My car would run fine to 5,200 RPMS. I put in on a dyno and could see the spark breaking up at 5,200 and beyond. I doubted if a opti spark would fix it. I tried wires, coil, and plugs. Finally I installed a Dynaspark and the problem was cured.
If you have a dyno close to where you live I would start there....

You are on the right path not just throwing parts at it. Do your self a huge favor and spend the money on a helms book. It has step by step procedures to check for the Opti Spark. THe Opti is a common failure item but it is often blamed and replaced for other problems and people end up waisting money and don't fix the original problem.
