Ring and pinion shopping list...
RMG-8310331 $105 - Richmond ring/pinion install kit,
RMG-SD4402 $170 - Richmond 3.54 sportsman gear set series 2 carrier
Is this all I need?
What's this mention of series 2 (<3.73) and series 3 (>3.73) carriers? And different ring gear sizes? I picked 8.5. And the vette having a d60 pinion yoke? I still can just buy this standard d44 gear set right?

In addition you will need the GM posi additive, and your choice of gear lube. A posi (Spicer, Trac Loc) clutch pack would be advisable. You will need a gear set intended for the Dana 44 ICA (assuming you have a 44) and not a conventional car or truck Dana 44 gear set. The </> 3.73 ratios you cite above are the breaks between the 3 and 4 series cases for conventional Dana 44 axles. It doesn't apply, directly to the Corvette, Dana 44 ICA, axle. Two series ratio gear sets are to be installed on two series diff cases. Threes on threes. A three series gear set with a thick ring gear is intended for installation on a two series case. If not in the installation kit, make sure your gear man has an ample supply of pinion depth, pinion bearing preload, and side bearing shims, for the proper set up. Pinion seal.
I don't know what a "non-conventional, ICA" gear set looks like, or what to ask for in the summit catalog.
IIRC, Summit doesn't carry ANY gearsets for the Dana Super44. I went through this with them last year.
Contact a rear-end shop like DTS, and have this discussion with someone who does a lot of 'Vette R&P swaps. Rich Perkins at 800-521-0628 can walk you through the process.
That gear set you listed is for a GM 10-bolt like the Camaro uses.
I'll call richmond. Summit can get em, even if they're not listed.
I don't want to pay some diff shop for parts markup, and I don't want them doing guesswork on my car for me.
Your call...just giving you an option that worked well for me.
No guesswork...these guys are good and the prices are reasonable. (Prices on the website are not what you will pay. Mention CF.)
Oh...I meant to mention earlier that Richmond gears have a reputation for being noisy. You may want to consider Precision, U.S. Gear, or one of the other makes.
Whatever direction you go, good luck with your project.

Not sure what this post is all about or what fits what, BUT....
I have the 3.45 Ring & Pinion set from my 96 LT4 Dana 44 sitting in my garage.....Absolutely in A1 condition......Are you interested???
Yes i'm interested. Although I want to see a closeup pic of the gear teeth. How many miles on them, and how many 1/4 miles on them?
I will get photo later today........In my estimation they are perfect...
Never at the strip.....a few "tests" on the street, but overwhelmingly all highway cruising....about 25K miles......the car was bone stock (except cat-back, K&N filter, ...)....
