I first removed the compartment door lid then go under the drink lid and remove all of those screws then the cig lighter what helps is to put the car in drive so it will come out easy and so it wont scratch your bezel around the radio like I did. Just take your time and do it slow it will benifit. Then attach the needle and selecter window. Hope this helps.
Start by removing the console door, then remove the three screws holding the shifter console plate. Two are in the console itself and may be covered by carpeting. The third is under the ashtray.
Remove shift ****. Lift the rear of the shifter console plate and disconnect the hatch release switch, also the cig lighter. At this point the shifter console plate should lift out. If you have an automatic, remove the bulb by the shift indicator(and don't forget to put it back when reassembling.

My 93 auto has 2 holes for light bulbs in the shift indicator but only one bulb? From MOJO's post it looks like only 1 bulb is used, does anybody have 2?

My '93 auto also has two holes but only one bulb. My guess is that that part may have been used in more than one car.
