People have made 1krwhp with the stock LT1 block. you just need to make sure its in top shape and do a partial block fill and make sure you have some good caps.
What is maximum of horsepower where the 1992 LT1 block (i mean only the iron block without crank, pistons, etc.) get no damaging for daily drive?
What is to do that the block can handle much power (arround 700HP). Is this enough to change to other main caps and ARP main stud kit?
Best regards,
Juergen
Juergen,
I've built several supercharged/stroker LT1's that made in excess of 700 rwhp. I usually start with a standard bore block and never punch one more than .040". Two-bolt block is preferred because I machine them for splayed main caps. For heavy F/I applications I usually put a short fill of Hard-Blok in it as well.... Last one I built was making 683 rwhp and is still running and being hammered three years later.

Jeb: I´ve been looking at GM Performance, Pro Gram, Oliver and Eagle caps-any specific brand of splayed caps you prefer? Stepped or no step? I am looking at the same power level as Joergen (a L98 block though).
