Default 3.6mpg on the freeway.

I noticed if i RESET Mileage on the freeway, it will go to 3.6 and stay 3.3-3.6 for a long time. Is this normal? It works like normal if the car is immobile when i reset it.

Yep its normal...mine does that and it usually means its getting 30 mpg or more...notice when your mpg goes down under different driving conditions it begins to read 29.9 mpg and so forth?
I think 3.0 and up is the 30 range.
Mine stayed 3.1 or so for like 45 minutes once when I was on the freeway crossing a state and had the CC locked in at 65.
Was averaging 30 mpg according the the amount of gas I used too.

ya- I think they addressed this in the owners manual on my 86- in order to get maximum accuracy over the normal range, they had to cut corners and sacrifice the readings above 30- so 3.2 is 32 mpg, etc-

Guess since our 86's were build during the Casio 64 era, we pay a price!
