I recently put a set of 1.6 roller rockers on my 92 LT1 which has the magnesium style valve covers like off the TPI engines. The rockers are noticeably loud with these valve covers and I know the 93 to 96 plastic valve covers are supposed to quiet this down. Problem is, these seem to be about $200 for a set. Well beyond my budget. Has anyone used a set of polished aluminum valve cobers like on ebay? Would these help or be just as noisy as my current valve covers?
Thanks!
PS I also had this same set of rockers on my 96 Z28 which has the stamped metal valve covers and they didn't seem to be as noisy.

I have been through your exact problem. I ended up getting a damn good deal here on the forum for a set of 93-96 style covers($100).
It did help. I have no idea if aluminum covers would help but I generally hate the looks of them on our cars. I would try to hold out for a deal on the used ones.
Of course mine also quieted down a bunch when I replaced my pushrods and roller lifters. It is possible your return springs in your lifters are getting weak. Mine were. That will make em really noisy.
