I have recently purchased a 93 Corvette and the reverse lights do not work. The bulbs and fuse are both fine. How do I get to the switch or relay that activates these? Or has anyone else had this problem that could give me some advice?
IM trying to figure this out too. All i know is GM charges 75 to diagnose the problem and close to 300 to fix it. Im sure its easy to fix though. Ill reveiw "the" chilton tonight.
Run a quick continuity test on the switch. If it doesn't close when the car is shifted into reverse, you'll know the switch is faulty. If the switch closes, but the lights still don't come on, look elsewhere for the problem.
What is the switch called? Color? Left side or right?
It's called a "backup light switch" or "reverse light switch". On my "91" 5 speed Camaro, it was mounted on the driver side of the transmission in open sight and its about the diameter of a quarter.
It's probably mounted in a similar location on the Corvette 6 speed.
