How to do a burnout on Nittos.
Does anyone know the proper way to heat up Nitto drag radials at the track? Do you go through the water box or not? Do you smoke them or not? How much tire pressure. Thanks slot.

I like to back into the water and just dip the tires. I then pull forward out of the water and begin to brake torque. Hold the rpm's around 5000 steady, when the rpm's start to drop, release the brake, floor the throttle and ride the burnout a little bit. Then stage. Do not dry hop!
My first pass of the day I will come out of the hole about 3/4 throttle just to see how the track is biting. If the car hooks the next run I get real aggressive.

I called Nitto. The tech said:"Get the tire up to 200 degrees and no hotter. This is a burnout with almost no smoke. He said any hotter will make grip uneven and cause wheel hopping."

Most guys I've seen will smoke them for about 3 seconds. That's 3 seconds after the smoke appears, not 3 seconds total.
Like stated, ride it out and do not dry hop.
