Electrics gone to pot!!
I am a new guy so forgive me if i am asking the same old questions that keep turning up.
I just picked up a very pretty ,86 with 55'000 miles on it. It has been sat around for a year of two, but now i have it running
I am having some electric issues though. One headlamp has no voltage going to it, the motor doesnt shut off when you turn the lamps on, and the light on the other side doesnt rotate at all?? I am also getting an intermittent check engine lamp. Comes on for a minute or two sometimes.
Is there somewhere other than the passenger dash where fuses are hidden and where can i find engine codes??
Incidently, these cars are the nuts! No more *** crap for me
You can read any stored error codes that causes the check engine light to come on by turning your ignition key to run (engine not running) and by using a paper clip to short the top right two pins on the ALDL connector which is on the bottom lip of the dash about where your right knee would be. When you short and continue shorting these two pins, the service engine light will flash 12 three times (flash
flash, flash) and it will flash the stored error codes (count the flashes for the error code number) followed by 12 three times and it will repeat. You can look up the error code in the GM service manual and read how that error code gets set and what to do about it. Welcome to the world of Corvettes !

How can anyone live an entire life and not have a drive of one of these cars?? There is just far too much fun to be had, and for very little money (so far)
I cant stop grinning
