Can anyone suggest a tried and true method for locating vacuum leaks? I've got a Superram and suspect a leak is raising the idle way too high. Thanks, Jack
Grab your propane torch. Open the valve so that some propane escapes from the nozzle (but don't light it). Start the car and let it idle.
Play the nozzle over any areas where there could be a vacuum leak, and pay attention to the idle speed. If the idle speed changes noticeably, it's probably sucking in the propane and burning it. This should pretty well pinpoint the leak.
