As some of you know, I have been working on my opti r&r. I am done with it & the plugs, wires, water pump & opti took me a total of 9hrs. Thanks to those of you who added your good advise & supplied helpful hints & links. I appreciate it.
I wouldnt have thought my car could run even better than it did.......but it does. I notice the difference mostly in the quick starts & in the upper hwy speed acceleration.
The parts came from GM at a cost of $856.00 in addition to that, I needed a new serpentine belt at $38.00 (NAPA) It was really worth it.
Anything I can do for someone else who may be doing this job for the first time, just Email or PM me.
I would think the hardest part of the job was the time you had to spend.
Would I be right?
I also believe the optispark is a great system. Glad to hear how good your Vette is running!
BTW, how many miles do you have on your Vette?

Actually, I dont mind working on my cars, I really do enjoy a challenge. The hardest part of the job was running the drivers side spark plug wires behind the P/S pump area.
The plugs themselves were surpisingly not that tough as some have said. The only thing I really removed was the ASR box. Everything else I left in place. Having air & air tools is the key to doing this job.
I think the plug wires on the driver's side are the worst part of that job, too (unless you have major problems getting the harmonic damper off -- I didn't). I found it helpful to unbolt the PS pump and move it forward around a half-inch to make it easier to sneak the wires in/out behind the pump.
Here's hoping you have many trouble-free miles with yours. I've logged 10k on my DynaSpark, and it's been great so far.
