Default NO2 Limit

Ive got an '85 with 406 c.i. and forged pistons, cast crank, alum. heads, superram. Currently have the NO Systems brand 150 hp TPI "kit"- approx. 10 yrs. old. Have there been any new tricks re. nitrous and the TPI engines? The setup I have injects in front of the plenum. How far in jet size(hp) can I safely increase? Thanks, Jack

Jack, I think a lot of that depends on the size fuel injectors you have.
After that, I guess your crank or maybe your rods(you didn't mention them) may be your limiting factor.

DO NOT USE a 05151 NOS plate system on a SuperRam!!! Plate systems on this manifold have TERRIBLE distribution, particularly for the fuel side and WILL lean out the rear cylinders. I and several others have found this out the expensive way... I finally threw EGT's on #7 and #8 and found them to be running 200 degrees higher than the other cyl's on the bottle... And they were slightly cool in n/a operation... If you're going to do N2O on an SR motor I would suggest direct port.

Jeb, does the same apply if a dry NOS system is used? Is either system safe to use with a MR?

Plate is fine on a MR up to a point then you have puddling problems in it... Dry system is okay because the injectors provide the enrichment. The problem with the SR is that is was NEVER intended to have fuel flow through it ("wet" manifold is what we call it) and as such the fuel does not make it to the rear cyl's while the N2O does. That's what creates the uber-lean condition in those cyl's.
