How hard to fix high beam switch?
Gettin' out of the vette the other day and my big behind (pocket on my pants) snagged the turn signal rod and must have bent it enough to where the high beams do not switch on. I get no feeling clicking or otherwise. The turn signals still work. How hard is it to crack open the column to get to the switch??

There are 4 components to this..The ind. lever you hit, a plastic slider that the lever attaches to, a steal thin rod that rests against the plas. slider, then the hi/lo switch near the ig. sw. More than likely you have forced the lever away from its position where it attaches to the slider, or broken the pin section at the end of the lever that fits into the slider, or the thin steal rod has slipped away from the slider. Either way, you will need to remove the tilt lever, then you can remove the black plastic column section over the indicator lever. The only way that I have been able to do this is with a thin flat-blade screw-driver, pushed in between the two adjacent plastic housings. When this comes off you will be able to easily see what has broken or come apart. If it is the lever, then there is a bit of surgery needed to replace it. If the slider falls out, just replace it in its grove and reassemble carefully, making sure that the rod rests in the slider grove.
