I am in the process of installing long tube headers on my 94, and I have a question about needing an O2 simulator for the single sensor that is behind the cat on the passenger side. Since my car is still OBD I, do I need a sim?
By the way, for those looking for O2 sims, check http://mysite.verizon.net/vze7erz1/. They have several electronic components that might be helpful for our projects.
I used one on my LT install. I probably could have Tuned it out; however, Merle at EM threw one in with my header purchase for a reasonable amount of money and the sim was simple to install.
You do not need to run with that O2 sensor installed/connected. It will nto throw a CEL. I've gone without the rear sensor in my 95 for probably 3 or 4 years now. It has something to do with pre-OBD2 testing purposes, probably one of those things that was going to be a requirement but never materialized.
Put that $80 towards a new set of wires to take your header temps.
Thanks for the input. I will just leave out the rear O2 sensor and try it w/o the sim. And look out Wildcat1, I'm just 10 bolt-on changes away from calling you out....
