Screeching Sound? First time... having bad night ;P
Working on headlights... I've got all the wiring disconnected to them up front on both sides, hell passengers side isn't even in.
But tommorrow I need to make it to a meeting and my other car is out on loan so I decided to start 'er up tonight to test to see if I needed to make other arrangements in morning, and she started semi-okay, I decided to let it try to catch instead of rev'ing it up just out of curiosity.
Interesting thing happened.... loud screeching sound, sorta sounded like the belt or something... no idea as soon as I kicked it into reverse it got really loud for a second then went away, came back when I sat in idle for a second.
It's dark out now so I can't test drive it anywhere to check, but anything I should look for or be aware of that might shreek like that?
I just did the alternator but a day ago, and she ran fine after that, took her out and tested that 0-84 mph time... before that truck cut in front of me when I then proceeded to do a systems check on the ABS brakes and spend a few dollars of donations of expensive tires to the road ;P

I just went down and redid the tensioner on the serpentine built, no change there.
I'm wondering if it's something to do with the TPI Airfoil I installed today or the MAF?
Any ideas people, come on toss me em all ;)

Volts are Reading at 14 - 14.1, which is better then just the battery could be doing and it starts so I don't think the battery is dead or low just yet, give it time ;P
I'm worried about driving it, I think I'll go back roads tommorrow instead of the expressway just for safety as I'm not sure what's with it, I hope it's not like tranny related or anything, at some point this thing needs to go pass emissions.

I asked to want to learn more about working on cars but not on days when I'm meeting with my boss to determine my coming on board with them as an employee and I'm scared goodieless my boss will want me to drive him to the lunch as I'm working in his office in the morning.

I mean low as in, damn, I left the hood open too long and ran the battery down some putting in the new airfoil while the under hood lights are blazing away. It may take a few minutes for the alternator to bring it (the battery)back up. If it's charging at 100 amps or so, it puts a lot of strain on the belt.
If you have those kind of voltages your alternator is still working!

My alternator will just howl when I forget to close the hood for a few days!

I disconnected the inner hood lights while I was working on it today cause I knew I'd forget about them, and then late last night I shorted the bulb on my hanging light thing (ya know one with the hook on it :mad )
I'm wondering if it could be the alt or not trying to charge, I'll see if it goes away.
My other thought was maybe it getting used to the TPI Air Foil, or I didn't reconnect the maf properly.
And no I haven't modified my MAF yet, but I will at some point.
