89 white conv. transmission slips
I have a question . I have a 89 white corvette with a 700 R trans. When it is cold the first time it shifts into overdrive it slips a little. Then every time after that it is fine. Do they still have belts that can be adjusted or do I need the whole trans. rebuilt

Need more info - at what temp - what speed - what gear (3 or 4)? Torque convertor lockup on the 700R4 can be erratic between 35 and 40 mph depending on load. It shouldn't be happening at all until closed loop, so monitoring that parameter might give you some clue as to where the problem lies. A fluid change won't hurt it, but probably won't cure anything either. Leave the TV cable alone - there isn't any adjustment necessary unless you're replacing the cable and if you screw it up, there will be other problems.
