I bid on and won an eBay auction for a conversion kit from prostreetlighting.com. The cost was $45 including postage (or close to that - $36 without postage). I followed scorp's dirs on installation and it was sooo easy and the new lights are SOOOO much brighter than the sealed beams. I highly recommend this conversion, regardless of brand, to any and all C4 owners. The lighting is so much better now.
Not quite, these are H4 housings with some sort of hyperwhite/HID-like replaceable bulb. NOT true HID, but for $45 these are leaps, and bounds and then some better than the stock lighting. Sorry for the confusion.
Did I read this right. The 800 dollar plus xenon HID head lights .....
I wish! Unfortunately I don't think the C4s could even HAVE true HID because of the rotating headlamp assembly. I don't know where the power transformer would mount, and they might be too hot.
Good Deal Bob.....i was looking for replacement hollow lenses to put the Hiperwhite Bulbs in, and found some for $90 for the pair....this didn't even include the bulbs!
way to bid!
Anyone wondering how these compared to the stock setup....
The top of this picture are my stock low beams, AND my upgraded 50W foglamps on. The bottom is just the new low beams. The picture doesn't even do them a justice, it is even more dramatic in person.
bob....or anyone, i am looking at prostreetlighting.com and looking at their kits, does anyone know what size the factory bulbs are so i know which conversion kit to get.....dont' really feel like running outside to look
also, do the actual bulb "packages" have a D.O.T number on them
i have a highway patrol officer right around the corner that would probably love to bust me for having "illegal" blue lights on my car!

I don't know about Bob's kit, but my Hella headlamp housings have a DOT number on them. It is my bulbs (APC Xenon Plasma H4) that are technically illegal.
Hmm... I did some research on the xenon HID stuff. Sylvania is coming out with a system for the 6054 lamp size that will be called x6054 and that is in Spetember 01. Thats the good news. The bad news is that its 879 bucks  retail.
The conversion on this thread must be the halogen cool blue. Sylvania makes this light under part number H6054 CB. The lights are 13.99 each at Autozone.
No , I have the Sylvania H6054 CB on my car which is much better than stock lighting. The ones they are talking about here are upgrades where you can run the same type of bulbs the newer cars are running. When their lights go out all they do is change a bulb, not the whole housing. :yesnod: :seeya
I too got the $37 deal off of Ebay. I'm waiting for my lights to come in. Plan to put them on this weekend. I did the same upgrade on my Honda Accord and it made a world of difference in night driving.

Re: Xenon HID headlight conversion (CowboyNVette)
Sylvania also makes the XtraVision series of lights... They're advertised at 3 times brighter than normal halogen lights... They're also around $15/ea at Pep Boys... I put these in my 96 and on the high beam setting I didn't really notice much of a difference, but on the normal low beam setting they are considerably brighter...
I bought the headlight conversion kit from MidAm for $79... must be pretty popular since they've been backordered for 2 weeks now. I think they might be the same one's being sold on eBay. The problem with eBay is that, now that more people are starting to use these, it's pretty hard to get that $37 price, plus they charge $12.95 S&H. I'd rather buy from a reputable company in case of problems.
I've also got Scorp's directions printed out and ready to go once I get them though.
