Default Replacing Low Pressure Sensor?

I was having new tires mounted on my Vette and the guys must have unmounted the old tires wrong or something and broke one my Pressure Sensors. They said it was already broke but I find that hard to believe as I was getting no warning messages saying that the sensor was broken or not responding. Now magically its displaying a message. I know I probably don't need one but I can't stand having the light on in the car and I hate having even something small wrong with the vette. Its my baby I need to take care of it. Anyways has anyone had them replaced and how much would it cost for them to do this type of work or order the part for me. Thanks in advance.

I've got the same LTPWS for the same reason. I'm considering a piece of black electrical tape

It is most likely that the tire repair people damaged your sensor. I don't know what year vette you have, but if it is a sensor that is banded on the wheel, try www.tabercorvetteparts.com

They have used ones that you can purchase. I am sure that there is some procedure you will need to do so that the car knows what sensor is at which wheel or what sensors are on the car.

Good luck,
Dino

Teh sensors are interchangable between wheels, it is the recievers that tell the computer which wheel it is.
They are dead easy to put on, goes on with a clamp like a radiator hose clanp. You will need to have the tire balanced after.
You have absolute proof that the shop broke your sensor, no light before, light after. Go after them and make them pay for the new one like I did, and for dismounting and remounting the tire as well as the tire balance. They wrecked it!

Ok, I've been wondering about this as well, but with a different question.

I have a 05 Tahoe with the tire pressure sensor warning sytem on it, but the sensors are in the valve stems. My '92 has the LTPWS, but with the "tire bands" (I consider this to be old techology compared to the valve stems).

Hasn't anyone (GM or aftermarket) made valve stem sensors to replace these old "tire band" sensors?

Yes I believe that the "new" stem system is used on C5s but I do not believe that you can retro fit those to your C4.
