Default Muffler selection for '86 L98

I'd love to go with the Borla's, but they're a little pricey. Is anyone using the KBD mufflers? They're the ones that just look like tail pipes (no large 'muffler' cylinder). I'm looking for one with some more sound output than stock, and obviously better flow!

thanks!!
Dave

I installed the Monza targa's on my '86 iron head. I beleive that they are similar to the KBD's you are describing. The sound is excellent with very little resonance. Many of the Forum members are going with the eliminators and, from what I hear, they are the best hands down. You can have eliminators installed at your local muffler shop for about $50 with no exhaust tips. I have no idea how this setup would be viewed upon state inspection.
