Default 383, HSR Intake, cc306 cam, and Brodix or Dart heads?

Which heads would be better- more or less out of the box (going to port match with the intake and smooth casting flaws)- for my above combo? Thinking of 200cc, 64cc- Dart Pro1's, Brodix Track1's, or Brodix RR200's.

Personally I'd probably go with the Brodix castings but that's largely because: A) They're an Arkansas based company B) They make really nice stuff.

I don't have much experience with Dart aluminum heads, but have quite a bit of experience with their iron heads on circle track motors. Excellent heads and their aluminum castings are designed pretty much the same. However, I have a lot of experience with Brodix, know the owners of the company and at least in the past 8 years they've been hard to beat. A box stock set of T1's with the combination you're talking about should make 525-550 hp with the right cam and tune. I just got the opportunity to play with a set of the Race Rite 200's on the flow bench and was impressed with their mid-lift numbers.

I went with the Dart Pro1's for my 383, but the short block hasen't showed yet, the quality on the heads are amazing though, I'll keep you updated.

the guy that does all of the port work for racers in my area seems to push darts (he doesn't sell them- he just sells his labor for machine work). i have never heard a bad thing about brodix heads or iron dart heads- i just don't know much about their aluminum heads.

Hard to beat Brodix Track1's for out of the box performance.. lots of R&D plus track time went into their development.

looks like it's between the dart's and the brodix rr200's now. the track1's are a 1206 gasket- and in order to get the hsr to work with a 1206 gasket- you have to add material to the top of the ports- i don't care to screw around with that.

i am thinking the pro1's are the way to go- at least over the brodix race rites. the pro1's have better flow than the race rites- all the way till abouy 550 lift. i would think that the range under the highest point on the valve lift would be more important than what they flow at the peak lift of the valve.

If I'm not mistaken I've seen your car recently (a little over a month ago?) over at Bill B's (ZFDocs) place? How's the shifter working out for you...it felt great when Bill had it in the tranny out of the car!!

call harold at portpros.com he did me up a set of lt4 ported heads. they flow 287 int. 190 exh. at .550 lift. with a set 1-7/8 headers you could pick up 20 or 30 more cfm's on the exh. side.
