I think everyone likes the price of the hedmans, but remember you get what you pay for. Seems like most go with hooker or TPIS. But if you don't have much to spend go with the hedmen, just get ceramic and don't forget to order it
sorry about that. Be sure to get it with the bung or you will have to get one put in. They also offer the A.I.R injection it your going to keep it. But you may just want to buy the hooker by the time you get done with the hedman you might have already spent $500
I really dont have money to waste on cheaper performance parts. Id rather save up and get the extra gain and less worry with the hookers or another brand.
Been running my ceramic coated hooker super comps for over a year now and they still look brand new. 2149's have the EGR hookups and 2151's dont. Nice thick flanges and they are coated inside and out. $549 at Summit. Let me know and I can link you to them when I get to my home pc if you like. I have'em bookmarked.
ok only if nots any trouble for you. Also when you had headers installed what was the performance gains like??? Also the sound. I have flowmaster 4o seriies cut off two converters and resonator with one free flow cat in place of reasonator. Would those headers improve my tone or what??? Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the link. He did a really good job. Ive got a idea to where i want to take it now. I guess ill have to the job myself. Theres not a mechanic here that i trust. All overpriced morons

I dont have before and after dyno results or anything but I can tell you the seat of the pants meter shows a nice gain plus they sound incredible. I also did hooker "Y" pipe and a catback with monza mufflers from MADVette at the same time as the headers.
Here's the second part of a thread I did on my install with pics last year. The first part is lost forever in the forum archives I guess because I cant locate it anywhere.

Anybody have dyno graphs? I know over in C5 Gen there was a pretty substantial "Header War" that was partially resolved by posting dyno graphs.
Some headers (The TPIS for the LS1, for example) were substantially inferior performance-wise to the Supermaxx, LG or Kooks headers. Sometimes the extra cash will get you better build quality AND more power.
ive heard that hedmans have a tendancy to fail. correct me if im wrong
Fail??? How?
With those $135.00 Hedman headers, you are comparing apples to oranges. Those have the thinner, less desirable 1/4" flanges and are not coated. Take a look at the Hedman, Elite series of headers. They have the thicker, 3/8" flange and are ceramic coated. Also, in the middle, there are coated, thin flange Hedmans. No one has mentioned tube size. All the Hedmans have 1 5/8" primary tubes. All the C4 Hookers have 1 3/4" tubes. The smaller tubes will give a greater boost in low end torque, with no loss, on the top end, with a mild engine.
