Default OBD1 Chips (Attachment piece)

Trying to tune my 93 vette and having problems. I found out theres a piece that attaches to the piggyback that I never had on there. Do you guys know what this piece is and what it does? You would think that the programmed chip would be the only thing that plugs into your ECM. I hope this corrects my problems.

I never had a stock chip. My original hypercrap never had the stocker plugged on to it. I drove it for years without it.

Default Question

I ordered a chip for my 88 from pcmforless also, haven't pulled the computer out yet , but reading the instructions i think i have a memory adapter. I have a Superchip ( if i remember correctly or could be a hypra chip can't remember untill i open it up ) my question is the drawing shows just to plug their memory adapter in . Do i have to remove the existing chip and plug it into their memory adapter and then plug in the memory adapter into the computer or what. I tried to contact Alvin but their phone are very busy also tried to e-mail but have not recieved a reply back yet.
Thanks

Sorry,
I've been trying to answer emails/orders in the order that I recieve them to be fair to everyone. Since Feb began I've serously been working from 10am to 2am every day and playing catch up on the weekends. Having said that it takes me about 24 hours to return a email, or ship a order, or return a call I didn't catch in office.

If you have a piggyback adapter in the car now you'll be removing it to install my chip. If you have a stock style chip you can plug it into mine to install it or get a stock chip to plug into mine. Either way it doesn't matter because my memory chip will take over from whichever doner chip you use.

Thanks Alvin i'll have to wait and see what i have i know its not a stock chip but it might just be a plug in chip that i can take out and i guess plug back in to your set up. i'll know more when i remove the computer. Don't want to do anything wrong so that's why i'm being so careful.
Thanks

Finally got the original chip ( which is blue) and plugged it into my new programmed chip and pressed into the ECM. It works. So to answer my own question it needs the stock adapter.
