headlight update
Hey all.. okay an update to my 85 and it's new dash yet now non-working driver's side headlight.
I went out and examined it further.. (the driver's headlight will not pop up) when I pull the switch.. passenger's side pops up.. but, the driver doesn't. It is whining though. It will not budge.. I mean doens't move.. but, there is whining as if it's trying to do something. What do you think?

Did you previously service the headlight motor? It sounds like it's getting power, so your issue has apparently narrowed to a mechanical rather than an electrical one.
Time to open 'er up and see what those headlight motor gears look like. Could be cracked or worn beyond its service life.

thanks for the reply. No, I swapped out the dash yesterday.. when I was done.. the dash worked great. .but, the driver's side headlight would NOT go up. I've never taken one apart. Willing to try though.

Seriously, I do appreciate it.. but, re-read that post. It's actually very funny.
I'm game to try to take the motor apart.. but, I'm guessing the end result will be a pile of parts and me buying a new motor.
