Hello my question is...is there any way to disable the converter lockup in overdrive? seems to do it in drive also around 40mph...is it a fluid lockup...thats what ive been told. the car fells like it missing when its in overdrive, but i know its not the engine thats causing the chugging felling. that for any info. Mike
Or the EGR is bad but you should get a code for that.Have you checked for codes? The TC lock up prevents overheating of the tranny so unless you are changing trannys it is not something you want to disable.Mine locks up ~45mph and that can be changed by burning the ecm chip.Reguardless your car should not "chug" look for the real problem and fix it.
what's the tv cable? and how do i adjust it?...it does'nt chug in 1st 2nd or drive only when it goes into overdrive...thanks for all the info....PS the tranny was built to handle over 700hps it also has a 3000rpm stall converter in it. and a hurst shift kit..

This link will explain but your adjustment is different than what they say because you have the ASR.You will need the factory service manual for your year from www.helminc.com.
Pro-built has an outstanding reputation for quality transmissions. He is not cheap, but quality costs money. If he does not require a core, sell me your old trans
That is Pro-built and it is a well known and respected shop. When I looked at upgrading my tranny, I looked at Pro built or Rossler - I went with Rossler because I could drive to their shop vs shipping.
Do a search in C4 for Pro-built, you will be amazed with the info available.
