Default F injector seating

Ok I spent three hours last night getting to the fuel rail so I could get it off I am trying to change the ORings b/c the #8 was leaking. So I know it will probably take 5 min to change the actual rings. My question is I had to pull pretty hard to get the injectors to release from the their ports on the manifold. So do I have to press these down hard to get the injectors to seat back down? I want make sure I do this correctly and not screw something up. Please advise!

Also does anyone have a tip for tightening up that torx screw that is inverted behind the regulator???

Another question is that whoever had the fuel lines disconnected before put loctite on the two sets of threads. Should I do the same again?

Thx

Make sure to change all O Rongs, add some oil to them before installing, make sure pores are clean, they will go in fairly easy.

The ports are a little grimy from the years of the EGR pumping exhaust through it. What is the best to clean with and not get the grime down into the intake? I was thinking taking a rag with some WD40 sprayed into the rag and rubbing the ports til they were clean. Thx

I'd try some 3M Throttle Body Cleaner, spray some on a rag, wipe out the fitting. If this doesn't work, head for the hardware store, get about a 1 inch "bottle brush" and check it out to see if it will provide a slight abbrasive action, along with the cleaner.

Good luck and let us know.

Just use some oil/silicone lube/grease onthe orings and slip them in just a touch. When you tighten the fuel rail, that will do the rest.
