Has anyone every experienced a failed WP after just 2 months. Coolant leaked out of the weep whole and appears to have fried the BRAND NEW opti. SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've called GM Technical and they said the WP would be covered but if anything else was damaged as a result of the WP failure, it would most likely not be covered.
Has anyone ever had success getting GM to cover "at least the cost of the Opti" because of a failed "new" waterpump? All parts were purchased from a Chevrolet Dealer. Labor was done by the mechanic at my office and I made sure everything was done right.
Any legal recourse? Small claims? Something?
Totally Bummed,
Rick
You got a grey area here. The parts should be under warranty however they can deny the opti because it was not defective and say it was your fault.I would have a heart to heart with the manager of the dealership and explain what occured and have the WP as proofthat it drained on the opti and see if he can cut you some slack and replace both.Hope it works out for you.

Maybe what you could do is take the pump apart smash it from the inside-out, destroy the bearings in it then put the POS back together and tell the FRIENDLY overpriced GM parts counter jerkwad that their pump caused a catastrophic failure and physical damage to your Opti.
P.S. Smash your Opti with the same hammer. Don't overdo it though.
