1996 LT4 w/Procharger
While pulling the supercharger several times to do some r&d and as I was finishing up the install, I noticed coolant leaking from the passenger side, under the radiator. The lower rad hose had been yanked on several times as it sits right above the head unit. I specifically remember pulling the hose back to tighten some bolts.
Okay, OBVIOUSLY I checked the lower rad house, and it appears be attached just fine. The leak actually appears to be occuring above the rad hose somewhere, and possibly towards the middle of the car as I have been seeing coolant drip from near the center of the lower fan/rad shround. Any thoughts? There was no coolant leak prior to me yankin around on hoses. Any possibility of the end tank leaking from the car sitting in near freezing for a couple of months?
Okay, completed pressure test. Held 16 lbs. for more than 5 minutes. Here's the head scratcher, there is coolant seeping on the end tanks next to the gaskets. Obviously I've got some bad gaskets, but how did this happen? There was no coolant leaking before, the car sat for about 6 weeks and then it started the coolant seeping? Any ideas?
Also, replacement is not that expensive, any thoughts on if I should get new gaskets put on, or just spring for a new rad?
