The passenger's side elctronic seat control is not working on my '91 L98. When I use the switch, you can clearly hear the motor making a loud noise, but it does not move the seat anywhere. Would this be a busted motor, so some kind of broken linkage from the motor to the seat itself? Also, anyone know where to get new parts for this or maybe how much its gonna cost me to fix?
I cant help but think I saw a replacement motor once for pretty cheap, but that may just be a dream.
If the motor is running it is good.
Your problem is either the cable from the motor is broken or the plastic gears inside the silver gearbox are stripped.
If the cable is broken you can buy a new cable from GM.
If the gears are stripped you have to buy a complete used or rebuilt seat track from someone like Midamaeric or Ecklers.
