Has anyone ever converted a 1984 to coil over shocks? if so, what kind of problems did you encounter? what do you think about a 400 lb spring? Is that a good all-around spring?

early C4's require special considerations, I just don't remember them all...

Also, 400 in-lb springs would cause you to loose teeth... try 325.

I am running 375lb in the front and 250lb in the rear of my 1990 ZF6 and I have found that is perfect, as the 84 is lighter than the 90 I would think slightly lighter springs would be fine, good luck

350 in the front is probably about the minimum you want to consider... or you will spend most of your time on the "bumpers"....

My understnding is the toweres are narrower on the 84 and you may also need to have the towers strengthened as well...

I have som info on coil overs for my 96 on my website ( in my signature) If i can be any help please let me know...

For the late model c4's 350- 400 front and 250 -325 seem to be the spring range.

Alot also depends on the ride height as well...
