Default Edelbrock IAS Shocks

I need shocks... and want to try these out.

I drive my 92 (FE1 suspension) as my daily driver. I don't race and as such don't need stiff, I need something that won't beat me to death on the various freeways of L.A.!

Any opinions on the IAS? I have generally heard good things about them, but don't have much C4 based experience.

I remember a place that had good prices on them, but have lost the link.

Thoughts?

I have been looking at QA1 and the Edelbrocks, I like the QA1 becuase you can adjust them without taking them off. I guess it all depends on what you want to spend. The only thing I have heard bad about the IAS is that they tend to bottom out. Let us know what you get and how you like them, eshocks.com has free shipping.

I've had the Edelbrock IAS shocks for about 4 years or so. I think they ride a lot nicer than the stock Bilstein's. Given the choice, I would buy them again (if they went bad).

I have them. Installed soon after I bought my 94 about 3 years ago.

If I had it to do again I don't think I'd spend the money for them. They cost a lot compared to the other options.

When I first put them on they were a major improvement over the bilsteins with 60k on them, but after a year or so I felt the ride quality had degraded back close to where it was before.

If I was replacing stock shocks today, I would either go with coilovers, or I would put in a normal replacement shock at 25-50% the cost of the IAS.

When I got them, the lowest price was at one of the major auto parts chains. I paid about $80/ea. I think they are about $125 now.

A search should be useful as they have been discussed here many times before.

Did you know they had a search this forum feature?

Yep...Go out to the C4 Tech/Performance board, click on "search this forum" enter waht you are looking for and there it is.
I did one for your search and came up with 4 or 5 other shock threads 3 containing the Edelbrock IAS.

that's interesting.

I would LOVE to go with coil overs... but I can't swing a grand now. Currently, I have KYBs, but don't really want another set... they are ok, but they are cheapo, and they harden as they age. and mine are nearly 6 years old...

I have debated Koni and QA1, but I have heard stories about QA1s leaking...

I love Koni... they make GREAT pieces...

decisions, decisions.
