BREAKING!!!wtf.... ok so yesterday was the first time i heard it.. thought it was the starter. nope everytime i press the clutch to the floor it seems that the release fork is scraping the pressure plate.. how i have no idea.. why it would be doing this.. the clutch works fine. the last time i heard that noise the fork had come off the pivot ball but the clutch would NOT even work...did i bend it or something?? it isn't making any other noises except when the clutch is to the floor??
that is what i was thinking too.. i know i tightened the hell out of that thing. and the locking screw that cost me $30 cause someone decided to strip the threads off(previous owner) and rtv it in place. i would like to thank that bastard.. did you use locktite on it.. i was thinking of just replacing the clutch at the same time but for the one i want and a new flywheel it kinda crushed my broke behinds dreams.. but i think with the addition of nitrous by the end of the month.. perfect timing... i will soon be needing to upgrade that puppy anyway. so i will be well versed i guess at pullin the tranny.
I cleaned the heck out of everything and used blue loctite, torqued it to factory specs. So far so good. Man that tranny was a bear to pull. I read about guys that do it in a few hours and I feel humbled.
yeah.. i had to take it out once cause while installing the engine i knocked the fork off the ball. well i never have had the pleasure of trying to pick up a heavier tranny in my life. for pete's sake that thing is a pig. i hope to have a lift and tranny jack available this time.. i am only 129 lbs.. i thought i was going to blow a blood vessel getting that thing back on the jack.
I put a B&M shift kit on mine when I did the clutch and was shocked at the weight of the trans. I'm back into my driveshaft as I ppicked up a vibration during this ordeal. Those c beam nuts are sure fun!!
