My 95's drivers seat is auto, when I move the control around the seat doesn't move but I hear a buzzing sound of probably the motor! What do you guys think the problem is. Can someone help me?
I have been inside these hunks-o-junk, and they are tragic inside.
on one side of the rail, there are 3 motors, spanning the gap from one side to the side with the gear box are three wires, much like speedometer cables.
The gear box... what a piece of **** that is. It has a long "plastic" (some kinda nylon composite) carrier that supports all the various gears.
What happens is that the carrier breaks. This means that the gears are no longer perfectly aligned.
Over time, this will cause the gears to become eaten. It really sucks... the buzzing sound you hear is the teeth buzzing against each other...
Oh, here is the punchline... you can't get parts for the rails. I don't know why, but us regular folk can't just order a carrier and gear set.
define recline? there is a small lever that will let the back tilt a bit, but if you are referring to any of the 6-ways that are powered, sorry, thems the breaks... been there, done that.
I didn't won't to here that either, mine works in all directions except forward. Luckly I need it all the way back Made it kind of hard to remove the set though
Sometimes they just hang up because of crap built up in the rails. Have you tried putting the switch to go backwards and pushed on the floorboards to help it? Pull the bottom of the seat out and see if there is gunk or anything in the rails.
Ok thanks guys, I meant the wid the power switch nothing moves, slide forward or backwards it doesn't tilt backwards, but i guess ill try what Lichen said and see what happens. So usually this will cost bout $200 bucks if I take it to chevy dealership!
