Ok, How can I test the Tire Pressure Snesors on my 96 LT1 to see which one may be going bad? I occasionally get the LTPWS light coming on. Also, I get the "Low/Flat tire" light coming on everytime I start the car. I have checked the pressure in each tire when the tires are cold or haven't been run in 1 hr. Could these two lights be tied together? I need some help determining what the issue may be.
Sorry - at the top of the C4 section are permanently-placed "sticky notes" - threads that are always there. The "C4 FAQ" thread both provides lots of good information and refers you to sources for more of the same. I am not sure if "pulling codes" is covered (I forget where I left my memory) but it's a good source anyway.
If not covered there you can do a search for the subject. I'd start with "pulling codes" and go from there.
Pulling codes refers to shorting the pins on the ALDL (plug under the dash between your knees when you're behind the wheel) to get the system to tell you what is malfunctioning. Shorting two of them (jumping one to the ground pin with a paper clip) causes lights to flash on the dash in a pattern of "codes" - numbers that refer to the problem area. Each number decodes in your manual as a specific part of the vehicle. In your case it will tell you which specific wheel sensor is intermittently not working as spec'd. Search the threads for pulling codes and you'll see what I mean.
You might not want to use a paper clip for pulling codes on your OBD11.
Harbor Freight sells a universal code reader for OBD11- for 1996 and older cars. You can get Harbor Freight at www.harborfreight.com
It is $39.99 and the part # is 46030-OUFH. Good luck.

Thanks for the info... very much appreciated... Do you think Autozone(local parts store) would have a universal code reader?
