OK, I have the manual fan switch installed, but I don't see any difference when driving. It comes on just fine, but still don't notice a difference. Any ideas?\
You won't notice any difference when you are driving because there is excess air passing through the radiator at and above 30 mph, so the fan doesn't have any affect on cooling. When you are sitting at a light and no air is passing through the radiator is when the fan needs to come on. The ECM turns on the fan at 228 F which is too high IMO and if you turn on the fan when you see the temp starting to rise, then the coolant temp will not soar and stay around 199 ( I have a 195 stat) and then it will cool down to 195 when you get under way and do not need the fan. I would suggest you take your garden hose and blast water backwards through your radiator and then blast water around the gap between the radiator cap and the top hold down cover. That made a big difference in my cooling when I cleaned (the lazy way) the debris that collects between the a/c radiator and the cooling radiator.
I was getting worried, thought I did it wrong or something.... Mine temp still rises when I am just sitting there in traffic even with the fan on manualy. I will try the cleaning routine..
