Default Spark plugs

Got an 85 c4 here, and want to change the plugs. What plugs are you guys running, and what are you gapping them at. This will be on a pretty much stock vette. Also, what wires are you guys using.

Thanks in advanced
Brian

I've been using stock plugs and wires. The plugs can be gotten at mosts parts stores for $2 each.

If you haven't changed plugs on a C4 before, and you have the stock exhaust manifolds, do a search on how to change the plugs, and you will find the easy way to get at plugs 2 & 4.

I've always had good luck with NGK plugs. I have the plugs in my '87 383 gapped at .040" (factory gap is .035"). I use the MSD wires.

I usually use ngk or densos. What kind of ngk are you using? I run tr6's in the trans am, and used to run tr6's in the lightning as well, is that what you are using, or are you using another plug.

Biggest question is how often do you want to skin your knuckles changing them??
Copper = cheaper= more ferquent changes= more skinned knuckles...
Platinum = more expensive = less frequent changes= more skin left
Irridium = even more expenisive .

I use platiumums
DO NOT use platinums that have "pucks" on the end of the electrode... the pucks are known to fall off...
I use Bosch Platinum +4's they work for me...instant start and smooth idle.
A number of people on this forum don't like them.
Many will recommend to stick with plain old AC Delco Copper plugs.

I am using NGK FR4's right now. With the TPIS headers, all 8 of them are pretty easy to change.

I had a set of Denso iridium plugs in my '98 Toyota Land Cruiser that looked pretty damn good after 70,000 miles, so I went with them again.

I am running NGK TR55s and the car seems to idle pretty nice. I know they are pretty common in the C5 crowd as well.
