Default LT headers have arrived!

Now I'm getting really excited. A beautiful set of stainless LT headers arrived today. These were from the Stainless Works GP offered earlier this year. I got the set with the Random Tech hi-flow cats and assorted connectors. They're going to go with an X-pipe in place of the resonator, but I'm planning on keeping the original mufflers to keep the sound level and budget under control.

I've also decided to change the original O2 sensors with the heated variety, along with a set of extension wires.

The other mods for this car are listed below in the sig. My motto: 12's or bust! I'll report back in April after I've had a chance to try them out at the track.

I bought the same setup as you did with the RT cats. I retained the stock exhaust after the cats. To me it sounds really nice. Not really louder but deeper particularly after everything is nice & hot. Also there is a very noticable sotp increase in low end torq

Don't I wish. I'd be astonished to see 12.5. The engine is pretty strong, though. Before I started modding the car, I had two passes at 107 mph, though I never repeated that after I put in the gears. OTOH, gears dropped over 1/2 second on the quarter. Go figure.

Is that because of possible traction issues out of the gate?

No, it's consistent with better 60' times and better times in the quarter.

I hope you see low 12's.. I have a similar setup

stianless works headers
RT bullet cats
3" tri-flow B&B exhaust
Electric waterpump
LT4 hotcam kit with 1.6 rr

I've added everything over the winter... 400hp maybe?

Have you dyno'd the car either before or after the work? How about track times? How is the sound level, at idle, at cruise or at WOT?

I'm jealous! I thought that mine might show up this week but they didn't. I told them to take care of everyone else in the GP first because I wasn't in a hurry, but now I'm getting antsy! I'm still not really in a rush because I'm not going to install them until I put in my new short block in a few weeks but I just want to see them!

didn't dyno at all. I had pulled it in my garage on 10/18/05 to replace the intake seal. Turned out I ended up pulling the engine, replacing all the seals and adding a bunch of stuff. My inspiration is to beat my fathers cadillac XLR with the northstar. He's showing me magazines that say his car does 1/4 in 13 seconds...

Oh, and No, I haven't started the car up since then.. I am very nervous for I have about 2 more weeks worth of engine work....
