Wiring Harness
1993 LT1 CONVERTIBLE
What would cause the wiring harness to heat up and eventually frie but not to the point of being on fire? Talk to my mechanic this morning and he trying to run it down. We have replaced the harness section from the firewall forward.

Something is going to ground or pulling to much amps, your wrench should be able to tear apart your old harness to see which wires were fried, at least that will give you a place to start.
I will tell you that the majority of mechanics are not real good with electrical stuff, i say that because in the last 25 years or so i have hired and let go a lot of mechanics. and the ones that are good at it do not really like doing it because there is no flat rate to beat and it is a lot of times impossible to actually charge the amount of time that it takes to find and correct a problem like this.
