Hi,
Wanted to change my fuel filter today. Had the filter, correct wrenches, put the 92 lt1 on jacks. could reach the bottom. Could hardly reach the top. Does the exhaust have to come down? Maybe there is some other way. Take it to the mechanic and pay and learn maybe? Thanks LB

It's do-able but it definitely sucks with the stock exhaust system in place, especially for a novice wrench. It's been so long since my car was that stock that I really can't offer any constructive tips, but I did it way back when. Since I deal with as bad or worse clusterf---s on a daily basis at my job, it's no big deal. But I still feel your pain! This is one maintenance item that becomes infinitely easier to change when long tube headers are installed.
