Default stupid question on shocks

Sorry I got my new wheels and tires getting used to them. Got the new ZR1 rims 11" rear and 9.5 front great. Next step are the shocks need new bilsteins. I have a 94 corvette 6 sped nothing special. Is 299.00 the best deal im gonna find or has anybody found anything better. Also with the wider tires the shocks dont need to be channged at all. i wasnt sure with the added width weight etc... Thanks

it won't make a lick of difference.

and is that per shock or for all 4? for all 4, that sounds ok.

$299 for all four with shipping is the cheapest I've found from AJ USA. Sometimes they have a 10% off special which would make it $270 shipped, but that's about it.

Try Van Steel in Florida. This company is a Forum Supporting Vendor and you might be able to get a good deal from Dan. Looks like a set of 4 Bilsteins are $280 for either the base FE1 suspension or for the Z51 shocks.

If you want a reasonably good set of shocks for less, try the KYB Gas-A-Just shocks. Summit Racing has them for about $30 each including freight and an $8 order fee (about $130 total pirce)

Something I learned by reading my helms and this is new to me- I changed my shocks the normal guy way. Jack up the car and bolt them on. Then reading the manual it states that the upper bolts on the rear shocks needed the be torqued down at curb ride height. Huh I said. Then after driving up on 4 ramps and resetting the shocks at ride height and retorqed the mount bolts, I discovered that it affects the natural height of the rear section of the car. I also got rid of some clunk noises. Damn, I learned something new and should really read the manual more.
